Author Guidelines

Authors will format submissions in MS Word Format, and according to the simplified APA style instructions in the following attachment:  APA Format For Journal.

For each submission, all authors need to create a user profile on this website.  When creating your profile, please provide the information you want published: name, preferred form of address for corespondences, role (reader, author, reviewer, translator, etc), ORCID (only if applicable - not requried), and contact information (institution, phone number, address, country, and email).  This information will be used by the editors when contacting authors and assembling the journal.

Please ensure that you submission is prepared for blind peer-review.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word (or RTF) document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting a case for the SECRA Conference, be sure to select "SECRA Conference Submissions" (for the appropriate year), in the section box above. If submitting to the Southeast Case Research Journal (SECRJ), be sure to select either "Cases" or "Articles", as appropriate for your submission, in the section box above. Be aware that the copyright rules for SECRA Conference submissions are different from the copyright rules for SECRJ submissions.   • Ensure the submission complies with the instruction for a double blind peer review. Follow the instructions in this document

The names and contact information entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of the SECRJ and SECRA and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.


The editor will add the following policy statement to all submitted cases: 

The author(s) developed the case for class discussion rather than to illustrate either effective or ineffective handling of the situation.  Case authors certify to the Editor of SECRJ that they have received approval for the release of proprietary organizational information contained in the case, and that they have complied with institutional research methodology requirements.
