Oak Valley Country Club chronicles the history of the club from its inception to the
present. Oak Valley has experienced both good and bad times financially. The
current financial position of Oak Valley is unstable because of monthly cash requirements
to service long-term debt. This debt stems from some decisions made by
previous Board of Directors during the clubhouse renovations during the late 1990 '.s-••
Oak Valley Country Club faces a pivotal moment in its existence. There are many
issues that must be resolved before the Club can return to the level desired by the
Board of Directors and membership. Initially, the club must address its inadequate
revenue stream as well as its service quality.
This case requires students to analyze current management practices and financial
statements and make decisions based on their analyses.
